Frequently asked questions
After vacation I always have a hard time with my hair. Is this the unavoidable downside of sun and beach or is there any way around it? P.S. I don't want to use hats and caps or gooey hair gel!
UV-radiation, frequent water contact with saltwater or chlorine in pools, wind and sand massively attack the structure of the hair. The normal shampoo in your luggage can not cope with these exceptional circumstances. As all listed reasons dehydrate your hair, a specific shampoo designed for the needs of dry hair and skin is a better solution. If you are not using any headpieces you definitely should avoid the intensive sun during lunchtime. Salt water or chlorine water as well as sand and sun lotion that got into your hair during the day should carefully be rinsed out every evening with clear water and shampoo. The water used should only be lukewarm, the shampoo should always be thoroughly rinsed out and the hair should only be gently rubbed with the towel. Use the hair dryer only on medium heat and with some distance to your head. Hot irons are a taboo, so are combs or hair clips with sharp edges and hair rubbers used in wet hair. Continue using the care shampoo for 3 to 4 weeks after your vacation and also avoid colorations and perms during this period. By the way, it is also advisable to avoid new color or a new perm some weeks before the vacation in order to avoid any hair damage beforehand.
