HAIRPROBLEMS

Dry hair

Once the scalp suffers from dehydration and dryness, normally also the hair is affected. Frequent cleansing, a harsh and dehydrating shampoo, styling aids, bleach, perm, frequent and too hot hair drying, sun and dry air - all can dehydrate the hair. Due to a porous surface structure damaged hair is more vulnerable. Indications for damaged hair are the lack of luster, a strawy structure, increased electrostatic loading, a higher difficulty to comb the hair and a rough hair surface. With a mild shampoo, like sebamed Everyday Shampoo, and by avoiding the above listed causes the problem can be solved.

Greasy hair

A strong tallow production of the scalp, which can be genetically determined, influenced by hormonal changes, medication or stress, leads to a greasy film on the surface of the hair. This makes hair heavy and cloggy, thus the hairdo appears lank and without volume. Greasy hair has a higher tendency to create dandruff. A mild shampoo (sebamed Every Day Shampoo) combined with the waiving of heavy conditioners, hairdos which leave the hair tight at the scalp and hats or caps are promising measures in order to get a grip of the problem. Unfortunately, no external measure can influence the tallow production. Shampoos with strong de-greasing effects should be avoided in order not to further irritate the scalp.

Thin hair

The thickness of hair is genetically determined. Thin hair shows little volume and clings straight onto the scalp. Nevertheless, with cosmetic products and styling more volume can be achieved. But these products should not make the hair heavy or attack its structure. Thin hair is sensitive and susceptible to dehydration and damages in structure and should therefore always be washed with a mild shampoo. Changes at the hair root which can lead to disorders in hair growth can occur due to malnutrition, illness, medication, age, hormones, etc.

Thick, intractable hair

Hair vertebra

Even totally straight hair can show local hair vertebras due to deviations in its determined genetic make-up. With a suitable haircut and good styling these vertebras can be well-integrated and even hidden.

Spliced and broken hair

Is the external hair layer (cuticula) damaged by mechanical influences spliced hair occurs and the underneath situated cortex is affected. The hair tips and the hair structure are mainly exposed to mechanical or environmental influences. Once spliced, the problem can affect the whole hair. Severe stress on the hair structure can lead to a total breaking of the hair. The broken end is then especially susceptible. Dehydration, sun, styling products left overnight in the hair, coloring, perm, aggressive shampoos, hot hair dryer and curl irons, sharp edged combs or hair barrettes can cause spliced hair. Mild shampoos with a pH value of 5.5 and protective active agents can increase the ruggedization, thus smoothen damaged hair. However, are the damages outweighing only a new haircut can help.

Lank hair

Too much skin own tallow and/or styling substances can put weight on the hair, make it stick together and give it a lank appearance. With greasy hair, only frequent washing with an extra mild shampoo can help. Shampoos with a strong degreasing effect attack the hair structure and can excite the scalp. In spite of all promises made by advertisement active agents of shampoos are not able to effectively diminish the tallow production of the scalp. An also hair waters have only a limited effect and excite the scalp with its alcohol content. Hair which has a tendency for being lank needs shampoo with little conditioner.
