Sebapharma: Consistent reduction of CO2 emissions in logistics

Another cornerstone of Sebapharma GmbH & Co. KG's sustainability measures is its carbon footprint. The skin specialist put some thought into how it could also sustainably organise and consistently optimise its logistics operations in order to avoid unnecessary CO2 emissions.

The Boppard-based company was successful, particularly in the planning of transport routes and the use of sustainable transport and shipping methods, and has managed to consistently reduce its CO2 emissions in cooperation with its logistics partners: As a result, CO2 emissions in the first quarter of 2018 decreased by 32% per kg of consignment weight!

The key criteria for this success in logistics were:

  • bundling the flow of goods
  • route planning for vehicles
  • utilisation levels of transport

Furthermore, the company has also been able to considerably reduce noise pollution and fine particle emissions. It goes without saying that Sebapharma GmbH & Co. KG will continue to work towards further reducing CO2 emissions in the future. Because taking responsibility for the skin also includes taking responsibility for people and the environment.
