Microbiology

For the Microbiology Department the safety of the products in terms of microbic contamination has top priority. Already during the product development stage the use of preservatives is optimized by means of preservative load tests (repeated inoculation and incubation of products with relevant bacteria and fungi under the stipulation that they should not reproduce in the product) to ensure that only the smallest possible amount of preservatives necessary is used. Raw materials, packaging and production systems as well as the finished products are closely checked for microbiological purity. No pathogen manages to get past the staff of the Microbiology Department with their state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.
